Head of Training & Performance Development
Sam Dale is the Head of Training and Performance Development at the Players Zone.
With over 13 years experience in basketball coaching, recruiting, skills development, and student-athlete mentorship, Sam brings a wealth of knowledge to the Players Zone. A former college basketball player, Sam obtained his Masters of Science in Sports Coaching from West Virginia University. He is a Gold-level certified coach by USA Basketball. Sam is also SafeSport certified through the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS).
Previously, Sam was the All-Sport Performance Coach for the NAIA Division III Green Mountain College, a position he held for 3 years. Since 2018, he has been the head coach of Charlottesville’s U17 Ball Hawks. During this time, he has led players in developing advanced basketball skills, developing effective mental abilities and fostering sportsmanship and individual ethics. Sam also serves as the head coach of the men’s varsity basketball team at Tandem Friends School where he monitors academic progress and success of student-athletes including promoting academic achievement as measured by academic eligibility, retention, and graduations.
Sam Dale enjoys focusing on the physical, psychological, and academic development of student-athletes.
